Prosecutors say she falsely claimed residency in District 5 while living outside it (including addresses tied to a bar and apartments). Bail was $100,000; she faces up to about 6 years 8 months if convicted on all counts. The race is nonpartisan but she was described as Democrat-backed.

This exact same week the former head of the CDC Robert Redfield said that more than 40% of people who died from Covid over the past 6-8 weeks in Maryland were fully vaccinated. Soon after, the CEO of Pfizer said publicly that two doses of the vaccine offered almost no protection at all against Covid.
