Dollar and British pound are the closest theyv've ever been in history. USD is currently at the strongest point in over 51 years, but actually is horrible for the global economy and our stock market.
As usual this is all by design. Increase the federal funds rate of borrowing money from one bank to the other, so the central bank makes it more expensive to borrow money.
This creates the bond market to drop, and rates rise. Because bonds and assets being sold in USD, makes USD stronger. This artificial situation is good for investors but terrible for global economy.
Currently fed funds rate 3.25%, and they want to get it to 4.5% to 5% by end of this year 2022. This number up makes bonds crash, and keep in my bonds compete with stocks.
Chinese real estate market on fire, and collapsing right now.
UK also on brink of collapse, since they now released they'd buy any bonds at any rates to prop things up and attempt to dodge collapse.
So their in esters are selling those currencies and going back to ...
